BigPond Account Setup Problem
BigPond is an email service provided by Australia Telecom Giant Telstra. Email services have been an integral part of personal as well as professional lives nowadays. If we think about only professional lives, our all records, documents, conversations, etc. everything is done through emails. People have different lifestyles and want their official and personal conversations and emails, everything on their mobile phones.
In this article, we'll show you how to set up BigPond email on your Android and iOS devices.
For iOS:
1. Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, and Calendar.
2. Click on Add account and find BigPond.com email provider.
3. Enter all your BigPond credentials and hit Next.
4. Under incoming mail server, choose POP and input mail.bigpond.com as hostname and your username and password.
5. Under outgoing mail server, input the same hostname/username/password and click on Save.
6. Again, head to Settings>BigPondaccount>Advanced>Incomingsettings and input the following: Use SSL: Yes, Authentication: password, Server Port: 995.
7. Under outgoing settings, Use SSL: Yes, Authentication: password, Server Port: 465 or 587.
For Android:
1. Go to Settings > Email.
2. Click on Add Account.
3. Tap Other > enter your BigPond email > Manual Setup.
4. Select POP account and enter the following under incoming server settings:
Username & Password: your BigPond account username and password
POP Server: mail.bigpond.com
Security type: SSL enabled
Port: 995
5. Under Outgoing server settings;
SMTP server: mail.bigpond.com
Port: 465 or 587
Security Type: SSL enabled
6. Hit Next and select email check frequency every 15 minutes or so.
